Camping and Celebrating Cole's Birthday

Last weekend we headed north to meet Mom and Darrell for our first RV trip. We met up with them in Statesville, NC on Saturday. We spent one night there and then headed on in to Virginia the next day. We celebrated Cole turning 4 on Sunday! Nick made breakfast on the grill and then we had cake and opened presents once we got to VA. We spent the next day at VT gearing up for the game on Monday night. Then we made the long drive home on Tuesday. The RV was awesome and we were happy to spend some family time together!! We all had a great time. Can't wait for our next trip!

Back to School....Back to Blogging

It's September already!! Where has the time gone? Chase and Cole both started school last month so I figured it was about time I updated this blog and put up some new pictures of them! They are both enjoying school, although Cole says that he doesn't like to do work! He's adjusting well to being at school rather than playing all day at Ms. Debbie's! I know as the year goes on he will start to like everything about school! Chase is loving being in 1st grade. He was so excited to get back to school!!

Pumpkin Carving

The boys were super excited to go to the pumpkin patch and to carve pumpkins. We went on Saturday afternoon, which I guess was a little late because most of the good pumpkins were gone! We managed to find 4 decent ones. For some reason we thought we each needed to get one...WRONG!! We will remember this next year!!

The boys talked about carving the pumpkins all night Saturday and all morning on Sunday. Finally when we got home from Church and ate lunch, we were ready to carve. Well, we cut the lid off of Cole's pumpkin and he wouldn't even touch it!!! Didn't want to get his hands messy. Chase was the exact same way. So, Nick and I had to clean the insides out and get them ready to carve. We taped the patterns on the front and showed them what to do. Cole was over it in less than 30 seconds! He left the table and went in the other room!! So, I finished his pumpkin. Chase was a bit more into it. He poked out all of the holes in the pattern and then I helped him carve it out. I think he enjoyed it as long as he didn't have to touch it! Nick carved his pumpkin and it turned out really good. I'll have a picture of it in the next post. By the time those 3 were done, I decided not to carve mine. Cole drew on it and we were done! Lesson learned...1 pumpkin will probably do until they get a little older!!
