Don't Worry, You are in the Right Place!

Cha Cha Cha Changes!! I wanted to change the look of the blog just a little bit, so I have been working on it tonight. I hope everyone likes it! I seem to always think of things that I want to change or add, so I figured I would take some time to play around with it! It's a bit more boyish now, which I thought was only fair since I am way outnumbered by boys now!!

All about Chase

I thought I would do a little post all about Chase since most of you don't get to see him all of the time! He just never ceases to amaze me. I know I am partial, but I just can't get over how smart he is. I wanted to share some of the things he is saying and doing these days!!

First off, this has been a huge week for him! On Monday after lunch, he told Mamma Faye that he wanted to go potty in the Big Potty!! Sure enough she sat him on the toilet and he went #2!! He was so proud of himself and was telling us all about it. That night he peed on the potty for me. I am sure he thought Nick and I were insane b/c we were jumping around, hollering, and giving him high 5's! Well, I guess all the praise was beneficial b/c he has continued to go in the potty a few times everyday this week! We are so happy to see that potty training is officially underway. I know it is going to be a long road, but I am glad that he decided he wanted to start. Tomorrow will be interesting since we will be home with him all day. We will just try to put him on the potty as often as possible and see what happens! Today after I picked him up, I took him to McDonald's for a chocolate shake as his reward for doing such a good job this week!!

He is always making us laugh with the funny things that come out of his mouth. He says "Sure", "Just Kidding", "Are you kidding me?"and so many others that I am drawing a blank on right now!! He sounds so grown up sometimes and it is hard to remember he is only 2! He loves singing his ABC's and Old MacDonald had a farm! I have been trying to get a video of him singing so you can see it, but he always gets sidetracked when i turn the camera on.

He loves going to Mamma Faye's. He gets so excited when we pull up in the driveway in the mornings. He is always happy to see me when I get there to pick him up to...he runs to the door saying "MOMMY!!" and tries to open it to let me in!! When Nick gets home in the evenings, he runs straight into the kitchen screaming "DADDY!!" with his arms out for Nick to pick him up! He also loves to play with his friends. Everyday on the way home he says "I want to see my friends"! So pretty much every night after dinner, we go outside and he plays will the kids in the neighborhood. He loves "EFAN" as he calls Ethan next door! They play very well together and give us a little insight into what it is going to be like for Chase to have a brother!

Speaking of that, he is going to be a great brother. He is already talking to the baby and giving my bellly kisses. It is so cute and sweet. He says "Hi Baby....What are you doing in there?". It cracks us up!

Well, I said this would be just a short post, but obviously I could go on all day about my little man! We are so fortunate to have him in our lives. He brings us such joy every single day!!

Oh the picture at the top was from last night. I went to check on him before I went to bed and that is how I found him. It made me laugh, so I had to take a picture of him!

A Busy Birthday Weekend

I can't believe it is Tuesday already! Where does the time go? It seems like it was just Friday, and now here we are back to work yet again. We ended up going out for pizza at Mellow Mushroom Friday night. It was really good and Chase actually behaved himself and ate a bunch of pizza!! Here he is with one of Nick's hats on before we left for dinner. Such a ham!!

Saturday morning it was off to the beach. We got there around 10:30am or so. It was a pretty windy day so the water was rough and the red flag was out. Chase kept saying "the big waves are coming"! He loved playing in the sand. We didn't have many beach toys, but he did bring some of his cars (of course! he doesn't go anywhere without them). So, he had fun burying them and then trying to dig them back out.He was a bit hesitant to go near the water at first, but finally all 3 of us walked down there and stuck our feet in. He loved it then. Every time he would get back to where we had our stuff layed out, he would ask Nick to take him back down there! We stayed for a couple of hours and then decided to head home. We were all worn out. I think Chase and I were asleep about 5 minutes after we left!

Saturday night we had a little get together and grilled steaks. Jeremy, Ashley, Braden, Jeremy and Liz all came over to celebrate. Liz even made Nick a birthday cake. The boys helped Nick blow out the candles, and then we all pigged out on cake and cheesecake!
Sunday we took it easy and stayed home most of the day. Nick and Chase washed both of the cars! I unfortunately didn't take any pictures of that! They have been doing it frequently though so I will be sure to get some next time.

Happy Birthday Nick!

Just a short post to say Happy Birthday to my babe! We have a busy weekend planned to celebrate. We decided against going to VA for the game...and I will have you know that it was not because I didn't want to go! I had agreed to go and gotten all excited about the trip when he said that we should probably just stay home! So, now we will be going to the beach tomorrow...his choice, not mine! 20 weeks pregnant in a bathing suit at the beach isn't my exact idea of a good time, but I will be OK! I know Chase will love going. We haven't been in about a year. Pretty sad that we live an hour away and go once per year!!! Tomorrow night we are having some friends over for a cookout...hopefully we won't be too tired from all of the fun in the sun! I will post some pictures from the festivities later this weekend.

Picture of the Week

I had to put this one on here for Missy and Lindsay. When I was looking over the pictures I took the other night, I couldn't help but laugh at this one. It looks like Chase is doing the running man (for those of you who don't know what that is, it is a dance....one that I cannot seem to do no matter how hard I try)!!! So, obviously Chase got his dance moves from his daddy! He can already do the running man and he is only 2!!! I knew Missy and Lindsay would crack up laughing about this because they relentlessly tease me about it all the time!!

Always Remember - VT 4/16/07

I just now have a little time to post about this. Wednesday was the 1 year anniversary of the shootings at VT. I can't believe a year has passed since that day. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was sitting here at my desk when the horrifying news started to break. I was getting emails from everyone saying all these crazy things that I couldn't even believe. I remember my mom sending one saying the death count was at 32. I forwarded it to Nick with a note that said "she must be wrong". I just couldn't believe something like that was happening in Blacksburg. It's hard to understand whenever something like that happens, but it was just unimaginable to me that it was taking place at my school. Blacksburg was always such a safe place. We rarely locked the door to our apartment and never had any trouble. I now realize it is true that bad things can happen to anyone, anywhere. I remember sitting here just reading the news websites and emails all day long. People were coming up to me and making comments and trying to talk about it, but I didn't want to talk to any of them. None of them could even begin to imagine how I felt...the only ones I wanted to talk to were other Hokies, who were going through the same thing. I am so proud of the entire Hokie Nation and how far we have come since that day. I could go on and on, but I just don't have the time this morning.

We did attend a memorial ceremony that the alumni association of Jax put on at the University of North Florida. There were about 20 people there, and it was really nice just to be around some fellow Hokies. My heart goes out to the families of the victims, and to everyone who was effected by this horrible tragedy.

Halfway There!!!

I am 20 weeks pregnant today...halfway done! It is so crazy how fast this pregnancy is going. It seems so much faster than when I was pregnant with Chase. Hopefully I did not just jinx myself by saying that. The last half will probably be much longer and more miserable. Things have been great so far, but I remember those last few months with Chase were pretty bad. Oh, the awful back pain and not being able to sleep at night. Oh well, it will all be worth it in the end when we finally get to meet Little C (that is his new name instead of having to call him the baby)!

I have lots to post about today...i want to post a VT post and then share some pics from last night. We watched Chase's friend Aidan for a few hours and the boys had such a great time together. They even had a pillow fight with Nick, which was pretty cute. I have tons of work to do though, and can't even think about posting anything major until lunchtime or even later! We are attending a VT memorial tonight at the University of North Florida. The alumni association of Jax has put it together, so I am sure it will be nice.

Well, I must get back to work. Nick just called and asked if I could take Friday off. When i asked why, he said "so we can go to VA for the spring game"!! Oh my! That is not what I was expecting to do this weekend, but it is his birthday so how can I deny him watching his Hokies (even if it is just a spring game)!!

Don't Forget to wear Orange and Maroon Tomorrow

Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the tragedy at VT. Be sure to show your Hokie Spirit in remembrance of those that we lost.

Friday Night at the Fair

Chase wasn't so sure about the fair at first, but it didn't take him too long to warm up. We ate some tasty fair food to start off the night. Then, we went and looked at the big cows that were there for auction. Then it was over to see the racing pigs. He really loved this, as did Nick! We made our way over to the rides, but most were too big for him. He did get to go on the trucks and the carousel though. He wanted to ride the Nascar ride, but I told him that it went too fast and he would have to wait until next year. No fair trip is complete without a walk through all of the games, and Nick was like a big kid wanting to play them all. We shot some basketballs, and Chase won a stuffed lizard. Then Nick wanted to test his strength on the hammer game. He had 3 tries and he almost made it to the top!! They gave Chase a big inflatable bat as the prize. After all of this we were worn out, and we headed for home. Chase was fired up and talked about the fair the whole way home!! I think seeing the animals was his favorite part! We asked him what animals he saw, so now he is asking us the same thing...."Mommy, what animals did you see?" Too Cute!!

Pictures of the Week

Well, I couldn't just pick one this week! I am sure you won't complain about 3 though!! These are from breakfast Sunday morning. Chase and PopPop were eating Cheerios, and when they were done PopPop showed him how to drink the milk out of the bowl. Well, of course he was so excited about this and tried it immediately! He did good until the end when he spilled a little down the front of him! I am sure he will keep practicing and be a pro in no time!!

Braden's Birthday Party

I know I said I would do a post on this on Sunday, but I ran out of time...Imagine That!!! We had a great time at the party. A Day of Play was really cool. It was a huge room full of different things for the kids to do....huge play area with a big slide, grocery store, movie theater, dress up, music stage, play house and Chase's favorite part, the train tables. He has a train table at home so it surprised me that he spent a lot of time playing on the one there. He really liked the playhouse also. We are now in the market for one! I think all of the kids had a great time doing there thing. They ate pizza and cupcakes...Chase wasn't too interested in eating. He had about half a piece of pizza before he was trying to run out the door to go play some more! We were there for a couple of hours and left just in time for a nap. He was definitely worn out after all of that playing!!

IT'S A BOY!!!

We went for the big ultrasound this morning and found out that we are having another boy! Everything looks perfect and he is developing well. He weighs in at 11 ounces already! She put my due date as September 2nd which is cool with me...a couple of days further away from my Birthday! We are very excited to finally know what we are expecting! I am still in shock that I am actually going to have 2 sons! The look on Nick's face when she said it was a boy was priceless! I don't think the huge grin left his face the whole time we were in there! He said we are working on a football team! I think not!!! Chase is very excited also. When I picked him up from daycare this afternoon, I told him he was going to have a little brother. He said "I'm happy Mommy"! I thought that was pretty cute. I will post some pictures of the baby tomorrow. I need to have them scanned in and can't do it at home. UPDATE: I added a picture of the little guy. This one is of his profile. I didn't think he would appreciate me posting a picture of his "boy parts" for everyone to see!! HaHa!!

Happy April

It's shaping up to be a very busy month for us! The big ultrasound is in less than 1 week. We are counting down the days...5 to be exact! We can't wait to see the little one and make sure that everything is looking good. Oh, and of course to find out what it is. Hopefully he/she will be cooperating! I plan to drink a big ole' soda beforehand to be sure we see lots of activity (it worked with Chase, so it's worth a shot)!

Looks like we have something to do every weekend this month! We haven't left Jacksonville in quite a while, which is really unusual for us! This weekend is Braden's birthday party, next weekend is Chase's friend Andrew's birthday party, then it's Nick's birthday, and then finally Ashley's baby shower!! Wow, it will be May before we know it!

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful month. I will post some pictures and stories from our weekend and Braden's party on Sunday. Ashley is having it at a place called "A Day of Play"....The kids are sure to have a great time. Be sure to check back on Monday for the big news. I am taking the day off work so I may not be able to email everyone until Tuesday. I will post on the blog as soon as we get back from the doctor though!
