Tomorrow's the Big Day!

Wish Nick and Christen good luck in the Mud Run!!! We will be out there to cheer them on at 9am! Pics will be posted sometime this weekend! Probably on Sunday after the Delletts head back to Charleston.

Hope everyone has a Happy Friday and a great weekend!

Happy Birthday tomorrow to Alyssa and McKenna! I am not sure how it is possible that they are turning 8 years old. It seems like just yesterday I was seeing them for the first time. They were so little that I was scared to hold them! Now they are all grown up and having a fun sleepover/makeover party for their big day! Wish Lisa luck in dealing with all those crazy girls!

Tagged...6 Random Things

THE RULES:
1- Post the rules on your blog
2- List 6 random things about yourself.
3- Tag 6 people at the end of your post.
4- Let each person know they have been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
5- Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

I can't believe these fun little survey things have made it to the blogs! Lisa tagged me to do this, so here goes!

1. I am stealing this one from Lisa b/c it fits for me too! I am addicted to Facebook. I log on for at least an hour every night. I have been able to get in touch with tons of people that I hadn't talked to since high school and college. It's really cool to see what everyone has been up to over the past few years.

2. I wish that our family wasn't so spread out! FL, NC, VA, DE, MD...CRAZY! We don't see everyone nearly as much as we would like.

3. I feel guilty being a full time working mom. It's hard to find a good balance between work and family! Our weeks are really crazy, but we are getting through it. Thank goodness that Nick is such a huge help to me or I don't know what I would do!

4. I love my boys with all my heart (and wouldn't trade them for anything), but part of me still wants a little girl! I'm pretty sure we are done having kids though, so I will just have to enjoy my nieces!! At least I am about to have a 4th one in May, so that should satisfy me! Plus, with my luck if we did decide to try for one more, it would end up being twin boys!! hahaha!!!

5. My goal for the year is to lose 52 lbs. (that's a pound per week)! As of today, I have lost 7.5 so I am chugging along! It's a long road, but it has to be done. I need to get the weight off to lessen my chances of getting diabetes. It runs in my family and I would like to head it off now instead of later! Wish me luck!!

6. I am so thankful for my family and friends. They are the best! :-) Speaking of, I can't wait till the Delletts get here tomorrow night!! Woohoooo! I am just so excited to see them and hang out for a couple of days!

Ok...I tag
Missy
Christen
Lisa A
Jessica

Well, I don't have 6 blog friends so these will have to do. Plus I cheated and put Missy and Christen separate even though they only have 1 blog!! :-)

My Brother is SO Funny!!

Cole is so into his big brother! It's so cute to watch the 2 of them interact. Cole just stares at Chase and takes in his every move! Chase had him cracking up at dinner and I just had to get a clip of it!!

Puppy Love

I guess Rocksie doesn't really qualify as a puppy since she is about to be 10, but that's ok!! Cole just loves her (as does Chase). I thought these pictures were too cute not to share! Cole is really into rolling all over the floor and he ran right into Rocks and started to grab her and play with her. She's so good with the kids, so she just laid there and took the abuse!! She's such a great dog. We're really sad that she is getting up there in age and hope to have her around for a couple more years!

What a Great Weekend

Mom and Darrell were in town this past weekend, and we had such a great time! We didn't do too much, but it was nice to get to spend some time together! It rained all day Saturday so we just hung out around the house. There's never a lack of entertainment with Chase around! He's just as crazy as ever...dancing, singing, running around and wanting to play cars and games! He was loving showing off for Grammy and Grandpa. Cole was happy as could be also. He loves to be held and of course everyone loves to hold him! He's a bit of a spit up factory though so you have to keep a towel handy at all times!

Sunday was my favorite day b/c mom, Chase, Cole and I went shopping. I got a lot done since she was handling the kids while we are at Kohl's! We also went to Target and then on to Moe's for lunch. All of us love some mexican food (well, minus Cole b/c he is not so fond of beans! He is a super fussy mess every time that I eat them....so they are off limits until I am done nursing him)! While we were out shopping, the guys were golfing...big surprise! Nick loves when Darrell comes to town b/c it's a free pass for him to get out and golf! He knows I will never say no when they are in town!! That night they watched the kids for us and we went out to PF Changs. It was so good and we had a nice time together! We haven't been out to dinner alone in quite a while!!

I had to work on Monday, but everyone else stayed home for the holiday (no fair)! I did manage to get off at 3pm so at least I had a little extra time to spend at home! They managed to have fun withouth me of course! They made a "winter retreat" aka gingerbread house that Chase thought was pretty cool! The power apparently went out for a couple of hours too so I am glad that I missed that. Not sure what happened...of course my first thought was "oh no, did I pay the bill?"!! Yes, I did pay the bill...the power was out for everyone else too!

Anyway, they headed North yesterday moring and of course we were all sad! Chase asked if they could stay forever! He is starting to get sad when people leave which makes me sad too! I told him that we are going to there house in May, and he is so excited about that. He said Grandpa was going to take him fishing, to which he added "I hope I don't get a shark on my hoook! Sharks are scary"!! I assured him that there are no sharks in the pond at Grandpa's house! He cracks me up with the things that he says! Nick asked him his favorite part of the weekend and he said it was when he threw his toys out of the bathtub and Grammy threw them back in! They were certainly having a fun time when Chase was getting a bath on Monday night! All we could hear was laughing and carrying on! Fun times!

This weekend should be pretty low key. We have no plans as of yet. I am just looking forward to Missy, Christen and Caleb coming down next weekned. I cannot wait to see them! Things have been so crazy lately for me and Missy that we barely get to talk on the phone anymore! Before kids we would talk everyday!! Now life is a bit more hectic and there isn't so much time for talking on the phone! That makes our visits together even better b/c we get to catch up and it's just like old times! I can't wait! Oh, and we can't forget about the mud run!! It's that Saturday at 8am and we are looking forward to that too. Well, at least I can say I am since I am just a spectator!!

Such a Big Boy

Chase's 3 year checkup was this morning, and it went great! He is such a grown up little boy now! He was so good for the doctor. He was talking and laughing with her immediately. I just love her. We have been seeing her ever since Cole was born, and she has been great with both of the boys. Good thing I like her since we have to see her so often! Chase goes once a year from now on and Cole is going about every 2 months for his first year! That's a lot of doctor's visits! Luckily Chase did not have to get any shots today...I have a feeling the visit would not have been as pleasant if he would have gotten a shot! :-) He weighed in at 35 lbs. and is 38 inches tall. She checked him all over and said he looks great! Not to brag, but she gave me a sheet with some developmental milestones on it for this year and he has already hit most of them! GO CHASE!! He makes up stories, does a lot of role playing (lately he has been Fred from Scooby Doo), is playing games, recognizing all letters, and counting (he doesn't like to go past 10, but he can get to about 15 if he wants to)!

I told her we were planning on putting him in preschool for the school year that starts this fall. She thought that was a great idea and that he would be more than ready. I have found a nice preschool through a church that offers classes for 3-4 year olds and 4-5 year olds. They run on the same schedule as the public schools so the earliest we can put him in will be this summer for their summer program. Then he will start "school" in August and go through both of their classes before he moves on to Kindergarten at age 5!! Oh my, I can't even think that far ahead!!

I must compliment him on doing so well on the potty!! We've only had 1 accident since he started in the big boy underwear!! WOOOHOOO! Today was a good test for him b/c I brought him to work with me for an hour this morning, and then we headed for the doctor and didn't get to Mamma Faye's until around 9:30. Well, he peed in the potty at my work and at the doctor's office and didn't have any accidents while we were out!! He is doing so good and I am so proud of him. He's such a big boy these days!

Gettin' Down and Dirty (for a good cause)

Nick is going to take part in a 10k Mud Run on February 28th and he needs your help! He has to raise $100 to help benefit Multiple Sclerosis. You can check out the details by going to this website. http://www.active.com/donate/mudrunjax/NConte
Any help you can give to him will be greatly appreciated. He is really looking forward to the race, and has been working hard at getting ready for it. 6 miles is a long way, and it will be filled with lots of muddy obstacles! Our friend Christen is going to run with him, so Missy, Caleb, Chase, Cole and I will be out there to cheer them on. I will take tons of pics and promise to blog about it afterward! I may even be able to convince Nick to write a blog about his experience! We will see. Check out the pictures on this website to see what the guys are going to be in for! http://www.mudrunjax.com/gallery.html

Happy Birthday Grandma

Finally...here are the pictures. Hope they were worth the wait!!

Update....Sorry, no pictures just yet. I had to go to the grocery store last night once the kids went to bed, and I ended up not getting home until after 10! Then I had to watch 24 before going to bed! I finally got to sleep around 11:30, so needless to say I was not very happy when the alarm went off at 5:05 AM!!! Anyway, I should be able to post pics tonight!

Wow, we sure have had a lot of birthdays so far this year!! They just keep on coming! We went to Tallahassee this past weekend to celebrate with my grandma, and we had a great time. We headed over on Saturday morning and just relaxed for the day. Dad and Nick were helping Terry next door with the shed he was building, the boys laid down for a nap, and Lisa and I watched a chick flick! We were disappointed though b/c Mamma Mia wasn't quite as good as we had hoped! Oh well, better luck next time! Lisa made us a tasty dinner and then Nick and I went out on a date!! Yep, you read that right! We got to go out alone for once!! We went to the movies to see "Taken" and it was awesome. We definitely enjoyed ourselves!

Dad and I attempted to take some pictures of Chase on Sunday...our own personal photo shoot! We did get a few good ones, but Chase wasn't too happy about getting them taken! He's probably all pictured out being that I have a camera in his face all of the time! I can't help it! I finally got some of my digital pictures printed out last week and there were 887 of them!! Those were from May 2007-November 2008. Anyway, back on track....Sunday afternoon we had Grandma's birthday lunch. We were joined by Uncle Joey, Sheila, Barbara, Jim, Terry, Maryann and 2 of Grandma's friends. We had a very nice lunch, and I think everyone really enjoyed themselves. The boys were a big hit of course. Everyone was complimenting us on how cute and sweet they were. Chase was pretty funny b/c he kept insisting that Grandma's gift was really for him. I told him that he could help her open it, but he proceeded to open it all by himself while sitting on the floor in front of her! I guess he still thinks it is his birthday!

We headed home last night and got in around 6:30...just in time to get lunches packed, give the boys a bath, put them to bed, and crash!

I took some pictures, but I forgot my camera today. I will upload them tonight after the kids go to bed.

We are having a great month so far, and we still have lots to look forward to. Mom and Darrell are headed our way this weekend. Yippeee!! Christen, Missy and Caleb will be visiting us the last weekend in Feb, so we are very excited about that too!! Nick and Christen are going to run in the "Mud Run" (look for a seperate post on that sometime this week...here's a sneak preview...6 mile run with obstacles that have to do with mud! Think, rope climbs, mud trenches, etc!!). It should be exciting! Last but not least, We found out today that Danielle, Anthony and Little Anthony are coming to visit us in March!! So, we are gearing up for lots of fun visits from family and friends! I love it!

Our Fun Weekend

These pictures were too funny not to share! Yes, I know Chase is going to be so embarrassed by them when he is a teenager, but I just couldn't resist!! Chase has been wearing big boy underwear since Wednesday. Well, when he goes to the bathroom, he takes all of his clothes off instead of just pulling his pants down and most of the time he doesn't put them back on. So, on Friday night, he was dancing around in his underwear and it was hilarious!! Nick soon joined in (fully clothed, although he did ask if he should dance in his underwear also, to which I replied "Babe, you are not 3 years old...so NO!") and they were having their own dance party! Cole and I were cracking up watching them!

Saturday, we all went to the indoor pool that we had just heard about this week. Well, you all know that Chase LOVES to swim, so he was ecstatic. This was also Cole's first time in the pool. He was laughing and kicking his legs so I think that he liked it too. We plan to put Chase in swim lessons there next month. He will go for 8 sessions (30 mins each). I am hoping it will teach him some safety around the water. Right now, he has no fear and would jump in even if you weren't watching him.
That afternoon, I went and had an hour long massage. It was so nice! I have had a gift certificate since my birthday, and just now got a chance to use it! It was much needed that is for sure!!

Sunday, Nick and Chase went to the duck pond and Cole and I went grocery shopping. We had a couple of friends over to watch the game last night. We had lots of yummy food and the kids really enjoyed running around acting crazy!!

Today it's back to work for another long week! We are heading to Tallahassee this weekend to spend some time with my Grandma for her birthday. I will be back next week with some pictures, if not before then! You never know when something blogworthy will come up!
