Our Fun Filled Memorial Day Weekend

This is going to be a long one!!! We headed to Charleston on Thursday night after work to see Christen, Missy and Caleb. We were so excited that we would finally get to meet baby Caleb!! We got in around 9:30 so he was already asleep, but we got to peek at him all swaddled up in his crib! He is so very cute!! We chatted with Missy and Christen for a couple of hours and then went to sleep. It was a rough night b/c Chase didn't want to sleep on his blow up bed so he slept in the bed with us!! Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep!! All was forgotten when we woke up and got to hold the baby though!! Even Chase liked him...he is excited that he finally got to meet his future VT tailgating partner!! They were headed to VA for the weekend so we left their house around 9 am and headed for Calabash.

We got to Grammy and Grandpa's just in time for lunch and a nap! After we woke up, we headed for the pool. Chase loved it and kept saying "Grammy, I like your pool"!! The water was freezing cold so I did not want to get in!! Nick, mom and Chase all braved it though.

When we got back from the pool, Josh and Cameron had arrived. It was great to see them b/c we hadn't seen them since we were in VA last November!! We ordered pizzas and just hung out around the house for the rest of the night. We all had a great time being together.

Saturday was Grammy's birthday and Chase wanted to help her open her presents first thing!

Then he wanted to do a little workout! He was obsessed with taking Grandmommy's weights out of her room and walking around with them!! It was really cute.

The weather wasn't so nice, but we decided to go to the beach anyway. Well, we were there about half an hour before it started to rain. We all got soaked running to the car. I was the most fortunate since I just had to grab Chase and make a run for it. The rest of them stayed behind to gather up our stuff and get it back to the car! I did get a couple of cute pictures of Chase and Nick at the beach. Chase liked to watch "the big waves in the water." He didn't want to get in, but was happy for Nick to hold him so he could watch the waves!! He was definitely sad when we left and continued to say "I go to the beach" for the rest of the weekend!! Maybe next year Bud!

Darrell cooked shrimp and crab legs for mom's Birthday dinner. It was so good and we all stuffed ourselves. Mom wanted us to get a family picture so I set up the camera on the tripod and gave it a shot. After a few takes, we had one or two that we liked. Here's one of the best ones.

I can't remember the last time we all had our picture together!! That night after an awesome game of dominoes (which I won by the way!), Josh, Cameron and Grandmommy went out and the rest of us just hung out at home. The weekend was flying by!! We all did our own thing on Sunday...Josh and Cameron headed back to VA, Darrell, Nick and Lanny played golf, Mom, Chase and I went to the pool and Grandmommy rested up from the night before! The pool was still freezing cold, but luckily they had an indoor pool also. We all got in that and then Chase and Grammy got in the "Hot Bath Tub" as Chase liked to call it. He kept asking her to take him in there and he is still talking about it!

Sunday night Nick and I went out to dinner and then played Putt Putt Golf while Grammy and Grandpa spent some time with Chase. It was really nice to have some adult time for a couple of hours!! Once we got home it was time to pack up and get ready to leave the next morning. We were sad to go and Grammy was certainly sad to see us go. We won't see them again until the baby comes. It seems so far away, but it is only 14 weeks (hopefully sooner)!! We had a great time and really enjoyed seeing everyone. We made it home around 4 pm and still had some time to get some things done around the house. Matt, Jessica and Zachary are arriving on Friday so we are trying to get everything straightened up and looking good!!!

Madelyn Grace has arrived!

Congrats to Ashley and Jeremy on the arrival of their new little girl! Our sweet little niece was born at 3:16 pm on Monday afternoon. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 7 oz. and was 20 inches long! We went to the hosptial last night to see her and to take some pictures! She is really cute and little! I can't remember Chase ever being that little!! Well, technicaly he never was since he was 8 lbs. 2 oz. when he was born, but you know what I mean!! Anyway, mom and baby are doing great. I plan to go back over there this afternoon during my lunch break so I can hold her again!! Seeing her makes me excited and nervous all at the same time! I can't believe I am up next and that soon we will be holding our little guy....just 15 weeks to go!!

"I Feed the Ducks"

Chase asked to go feed the ducks on Saturday afternoon. He loves to go to the park to feed them and play on the playground. We had a nice afternoon....there were lots of ducks, geese, and fish that were trying to eat the bread that we were throwing to them!!

After we finished giving them all of the bread we had, we went over to the swings and the playground. Chase LOVES to swing!! It was hard to get him out of there, but it was getting late and Nick needed to go get measured for his tuxedo for Mimi's wedding.

So, to Men's Warehouse we went....Chase had to get a tux also. He fought me while I was putting it on, but once he was in it, he thought he was hot stuff. He sure did look handsome! Nick was trying to take a picture of him on his phone, but it wasn't working out!! So, you will just have to wait until after the wedding to see some pictures of him!! He will defniitely be a hit at the wedding, as will his cousins Zachary and Anthony!! They are gonna be some cute little guys!!

Well, tomorrow our new niece will arive!! Ashley is being induced first thing in the morning. I can't wait to meet the newest addition to the family. Check back on Tuesday for some pictures of her!!

Happy Mother's Day

I hope all of you moms had a wonderful Mother's Day...I certainly did! I had a great weekend actually. Friday night, I went over to Ashley's to do some scrapbooking. I actually finished 2 pages which is rare for me since I am usually not feeling very creative. I really have got to get Chase's first year finished before this baby arrives!! Saturday afternoon, I went for a massage, and it was so wonderful and relaxing. The baby did kick me nonstop though as if to say "you can get away from the others, but not me!" That night we went out to dinner at Longhorn with Lisa. She was in town awaiting the arrival of Ashley and Jeremy's baby...which didn't happen by the way. Ashley did spend a few hours in the hospital in the middle of the night Saturday, but was sent home b/c her contractions stopped. Here's hoping that little Ms. Madelyn makes her grand appearance this week so that Ashley can feel better! Sunday was a wonderful day for me....Nick and Chase woke me up with some cards and flowers and Chase even said "Happy Mother's Day Mommy"!! very cute! I wasn't feeling so hot from dinner the night before so we didn't end up going to church. I just lazied around on the couch all morning. Nick cooked a delicious lunch for me...seafood lasagna, ceasar salad, garlic bread and a canoli for dessert! MMMMM!! After Chase woke up from his nap, we played outside in his pool and he even took a try at riding Ethan's old bike. He wasn't quite sure about how to push the pedals, so he got off and was pushing the whole bike! It was very amusing! I somehow forgot my camera this morning, but I will add some pictures to this post tonight.

Since Mother's Day is this weekend, I thought I would post a few pictures of just me and Chase. A short stroll down memory lane! I can't believe this is my 3rd Mother's Day already. So I have spent my whole lunch hour posting about our weekend! I just had to add this one last post b/c Chase was so funny this morning! On our way to Mamma Faye's he said "Mommy, do you have your camera?" (he knows me pretty well, huh)? I said "Yes, I do. Do you want me to take your picture?" and he said "Yes!"! So, of course I took a couple pictures of him and they were so cute that I had to share.Well, I am off to eat lunch now. I hope everyone has a great week!! Enjoy all 3 posts from the weekend. A Fun Sunday

We had a great Sunday. We got up and headed to Church, then to BJ's for some shopping, home for lunch and a nap, and then back to the carnival again! Here's some more pictures of Chase enjoying the rides. We only had a few tickets left, so he went on the Elephants, Train and "Big Slide"! It was HOT once again so we only stayed for about an hour.

Ashley invited us over for a dinner, so we headed over there once we got home from the carnival. The boys played in Braden's pool before we ate. They had a fun time, but continuously fought over this bowl! They were trying to dump water on each other and themselves! It was very entertaining!!
