26.2 with Donna - 2013

Missy and I ran in the Breast Cancer 1/2 Marathon this past Sunday. It was Missy's first half, and my first time running with a partner. We both really enjoyed it, minus the pain in our legs! I'm sure we will be crazy enough to sign up for another one next year!

Weekend with the Delletts

Christen, Missy, Caleb and Morgan came to Jacksonville this past weekend. We all had such a great time together, and were sad to say goodbye when Monday came around.

Saturday, we went to Cole's football game. His teacher gave him the idea to fix his hair in a mohawk and spray paint it. He talked about it all last week, and finally convinced Nick to go  buy some hair spray paint! He thought he was a cool dude out there with this crazy hair!

 

 The kids all had a blast playing together. It was one of the coldest weekends here this winter, but they still wanted to play outside as much as possible!

Flag Football Star

Cole has been playing flag football for the second season. He's really improved since last year. He is much more confident and is really having a great time. Nick is in his element coaching the team!

These picutres were taken the day of Chase's birthday party. Mom, Darrell, Dad and Lisa were all here for the festivities! Cole even scored a touchdown that day!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Karate Kid

Chase started going to karate class in early January. We are thrilled that he has found something that he really enjoys. He has been doing a great job, and his skill level has already improved in just a short time. I do think his favorite part is that he gets to yell really loud!

Chase's 7th Birthday

Get ready for a few posts with lots of pictures! I'm trying to catch up. I know it's been a month since his birthday, but better late than never. I can't believe it is even possible that he is 7 years old! Time just keeps ticking on by. He was so excited for his big day, and for his Ninjago party!

Hi everyone, Nick here. I know it's been years since I've posted a blog, but I have some pretty exciting news that I wanted so share with our friends and family. 

 

We have been attending a wonderful church for some time now and I have an incredible opportunity coming up in March to travel to Honduras with a team to do mission work. You're probably thinking, who is this? Nick doesn't do that type of stuff. Well, over the past few months I've begun to realize how really fortunate we are. My entire life I've had people do things for me and make sacrifices so that I can have a better life. My parents, my family, my friends, my coaches, my teachers, etc. I feel compelled to give back and I honestly believe that God is pulling me in this direction. To whom much is given, much is expected, right? A wise man once said that...

 

We will be leaving Jacksonville in mid March to spend 5 days serving the community by installing water infiltration systems. Fresh water is something that I think we take for granted. We will be hosted by a great organization who has experience in these types of missions and has contacts in the area so that they can ensure that we will be as safe as possible. This is an experience that I am very much looking forward to having. This is obviously something that I never have done and I am nervously excited about  it. This is a trip that I believe will strengthen my relationship with God and help me feel like I can actually make a difference inthe world, be as small as it may seem.

Obviously one of the biggest obstacles to a trip like this is the cost. If I am asking that you consider partnering with me with a one time financial donation to go abroad. I need to raise a total of approximately $1100 by March 1st ($500 by Feb 1st, $600 by March 1st).
