Valentine's Day at the Zoo
We took the boys to the zoo yesterday to celebrate Valentine's Day. We all had a great time, but I think Cole was the one who enjoyed it the most. He was pointing at every animal, saying WHOA, and calling them either a ducky or a doggie! He did get the monkeys right at least. Chase had a blast too. He really liked the Leopard, Kimodo Dragon and the Alligators. It was such a beautiful day to be outside...Sunny w/ a high of 57. It's been chilly here lately so we haven't been able to enjoy the outdoors as much as usual!

Chase sure is growing up!
I picked Chase up early from school yesterday, and we headed over to have lunch with Nick. We went in and said hi to everyone at Nick's work and then walked around seeing the big Bull and the gym. Chase was super excited about this. Then we went over to Panera and had lunch together. It was nice to be out of work for a normal day instead of having to stay home b/c someone was sick!
After lunch, Chase and I went to the doctor's office for his check up. It went really well. He did such a great job with all of the tests...vision, hearing, blood pressure! Then he hopped on one foot, balanced on one foot and counted to 20 for the doctor. She said he looks great! He is 40 inches tall and weighs 37.5 lbs.! He ended up having to get 2 shots (Polio and H1N1 Booster shot). He wasn't very happy about this, but he was super brave and even watched as she stuck him with the needles. He was super tired after we left and fell asleep about 5 minutes into our trip to go pick up Cole!
He doesn't have to go back for another check up until next year, so hopefully we can keep the sick visits to a minimum and stay out of there this year!!

A Little Glimpse of the Boys
Here's a video clip of each of the boys! Cole is saying more and more every day. He loves when Chase tells him to say things, and he is pretty good about repeating them as long as it is a word he can say! Chase's video is from last night when we were playing his new Word Worm game before bed. He's learning so much in school and it really shows. Right now at school he is learning to write his letters and numbers. Each week they have a new letter (or 2) and a number. This week is J, K, and 4 week.
We are headed to the doctor this afternoon for Chase's 4 year well check! He was not very excited about going until I told him that they are just going to see how much he weighs, how tall he is, and how big his muscles are! I am sure he will have to get a couple of shots, but I had to leave that part out or else he would still be freaking out! I'll let you know how it goes!

Our Crazy Week
I think I must have caught a stomach virus when we were at Jump Zone last weekend. I was sick Sunday and then stayed home from work on Monday. Came back to work on Tuesday, sat down at my desk and the phone rang...it was Mamma Faye telling me that Cole was sick. So, i packed up and headed out to get him and take him home. He seemed ok the next day, so I went back to work and he went back to daycare. Wednesday was a good day until right before bed...Cole ended up getting sick again!! So, Nick stayed home with him on Thursday. Back to work and daycare on Friday only to have preschool call at lunch time to say Chase was sick!! Are you keeping up with this?!?! So, Nick left work and went and got him and took him home.
Friday was not a good day at all...Rocksie was at the vet to have surgery to remove a cancerous lump on her leg. The vet called me and told me that they had run some tests and it was too risky to give her anesthesia. He wanted to do some x-rays and blood tests to see if the cancer had spread. So, we were worried sick about her all day. Luckily the x-rays didn't show any masses, but there were a couple of questionable spots on her lungs. I picked her up that evening feeling much better than earlier in the day.
Our bad week turned into a pretty good weekend! I ran my first 5 mile race on Saturday afternoon! I was very happy that I was able to finish it, and I came in under my goal of 1 hour...54:01 was my time!! WOOHOOO!!! I am working my way toward the 9 mile race that I signed up for on March 13!
Yesterday we all went to the park, even Rocksie! It was a bit chilly out, but we had a nice time. Later on we went out to dinner at Chili's and then grocery shopping at Target! Definitely a fun family day!

February is staring out as a good month for us! Today is the 13 year anniversary of when Nick and I started dating!! Wow, it has been a LONG time!! :-) This morning, we received good news that Rocksie's cancer has not spread to any of her organs or into her bloodstream. So, we are super relieved about that!! She is scheduled to go back in on Feb 12th to have the lump removed, so hopefully all will go well!
Hopefully the rest of our month will be just as good as today! We don't have much going on this month, but are looking forward to a busy March! Up next is Nick's stair climb on Saturday and watching the big game on Sunday!
Hope everyone has a great week!

Let's Party....Chase is 4 years old!
These are a little later than promised, but we had quite a crazy week last week (more on that later). Let's talk about Chase's super fun time at his birthday party! We had a few people over to our house for snacks, cake, and presents! The kids had fun playing around the house..Chase especially enjoyed opening all of his awesome gifts! Thanks again to everyone who gave him a gift (whether you were there or not). He's had a great time playing with everything.
Here he is opening a few of his gifts
After we were done with all the fun at our house, we took the kids to Jump Zone. It's a big room that has a bunch of inflatable bounce houses in it. Chase loves going there and was so excited that we were going there for his birthday!

Happy New Year!
So I am officially caught up on 2009 now and am ready to start the new year! I can't believe it's 2010! This May will be 10 years that I graduated from VT! Time certainly does fly by!
2009 was a great year for us, so I was kind of sad to see it go! 2010 has started off pretty good, so I am anxious to see what it has in store for us. Last weekend Mom, Darrell and Grandmommy came to visit us. We started off Chase's week long birthday celebration with a tasty meatball dinner and a birthday cake! He was more than happy to start celebrating early! We are having his birthday party on Saturday...cake and ice cream at our house followed by a trip to Jump Zone for the kids! I can't believe that he is turning 4! He is just growing up entirely too fast!! Here's a couple of pictures from last weekend.

Look for more pictures to come after this weekend's party!
