What a Busy Month!

I randomly try to log into my blog at work and to my amazement, I was just able to sign in!! WOOHOO!! That works out great b/c I can finally put up a post about our fun and exciting month of July! I know, it's been a while...yet again!!

Let's see...where do I even begin. I guess w/ the 4th of July weekend! We headed over to Dad and Lisa's condo in Panama City Beach to spend the weekend with them. We had a great time hanging out, swimming in the pool, taking Chase to the beach and watching the fireworks. Oh, and I can't forget going to Boar's Head for dinner one night. I hadn't been there in over 10 years and it was just as good as it was all those summers ago! I will do seperate posts to put pictures in...this one will just serve as a "catching you up" blog post!

The boys finished up their swimming lessons a week ago today. They both did such a great job and I am so proud of them! I will post some videos of them showing off their moves. The lessons were definitely worth the time and the money. It ended up taking a lot longer than we expected due to rain days and vacations, but that's ok! I am so glad we decided to enroll them and get them trained! Chase is already asking when we can go back to Ms. Karen's again! She said we could come by one day and I could get in with them and take pics with her underwater camera!! We will probably try to do that next week sometime.

Last weekend me, Lisa, Chase and Cole went to Charleston to visit w/ Missy and to meet up with Lisa and David so that Lisa could bring the kids back to FL for a couple of weeks. (wow, to those of you who don't know my crazy family, that probably sounds like a really screwed up sentence!! FYI...I have a stepmom named Lisa and a sister named Lisa. Yes, it was really confusing for people back before my sister got married and both Lisas were Lisa Hilwig!)! Anyway, we had a great weekend visiting w/ everyone. It was crazy and short, but lots of fun. I know the kids all had a great time too. We went swimming at the hotel pool and then out to dinner on Saturday night. Sunday we got packed up and had to head home. What an adventure w/ 2 adults and 5 kids in the car!

This week the preschool that Chase is going to go to next month has Vacation Bible School. We decided to send him so he could get a feel for the place and make sure he liked it. He is doing good so far and seems to be having fun. He was a little upset last night when we dropped him off, but he quickly got over it once the teacher told him they were going to be playing on the playground! Tonight is the last night and they are having a little program for the parents to come and watch. I can't wait. I will be sure to bring the camera. I can't believe my little man is grown up enough to be doing all of this!!

I can't leave out Cole...he turned 10 months on the 2nd. 10 MONTHS!!! His birthday is quickly approaching and I have already started to plan his party. We are having it on Sept 5th (my birthday and also the first Hokie game of the season) so we are doing a tailgate theme! It should be a fun time! Invitations are in the works and will be sent out next month sometime. The little guy is crazier than ever. He is crusing all around the furniture and "talking" up a storm!! He's pretty loud too! He can say a couple of words..."uh-oh" is his favorite.

Well, I think I am caught up now. I am looking forward to being home this weekend w/ not much planned. The big news of the weekend for me is that I am running in my first 5k tomorrow night! I am excited and nervous all at the same time. Nick and the boys are going to come downtown to cheer me on. It should be an exciting evening!

Ok, I will try to post some pictures now. We'll see if my computer is cooperating. Have a great weekend!
