Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve did not go as planned! The day started with a trip to the doctor for both boys. Chase had been sick with a respiratory infection for a little over a week and he was running a fever when he woke up. So, I called the doctor and they told us to come on in. While we were getting ready, Cole woke up and was also running a fever and coughing, etc. So, all 4 of us headed out to get them checked out. Chase had a double ear infection and Cole had caught the respiratory infection. We were supposed to have a party that evening with some friends and their kids, but we decided to cancel so we wouldn't get anyone else sick. So, it was just the 4 of us for the first time on Christmas Eve. Nick knew I was sad about not having our friends over so he cooked us a delicious dinner...crab manicotti with some nice crusty bread. After dinner, we opened our Christmas pajamas and read the story of the first Christmas and "The Night before Christmas." We ended up having a memorable Christmas Eve despite the change in plans.
