Shamu Rocks!

Here's a short clip of Chase and Braden dancing at the Shamu show at Sea World. Chase was going crazy over the loud music, and he was pretending his light saber was a guitar that he was jammin' out on!!

Little Piggy

Cole definitely LOVES to eat! Whenever you have any food or drink, he thinks that he should have some of it! He sits or stands there hollering at you until you give him some. I got a short video of him eating some of a chocolate popsicle last night! I tried to get him to show off his 4 new top teeth, but he wouldn't open his mouth up wide enough!! It's hard to see them unless you turn him upside down or get him to laugh!! Once they come all the way in, I should be able to get a good shot of them! He now has 6 teeth total...2 on the bottom and 4 on the top!!!

Chase Riding his Bike

Chase has been riding his bike the past couple of nights! He finally got the hang of it, and is doing a great job. The bike he has now is Ethan's old one so we told Chase if he keeps riding then maybe Santa will bring him a brand new bike for Christmas!! He says he wants a Scooby Doo bike...hopefully Santa can find one! (If you are getting this on email, you will have to go to the actual blog to be able to view the video.)

Is it really August already?!?

I know my lame excuses for not blogging are really getting old. We really have been super busy and our summer is just flying by! We just got back from a trip to see Mom and Darrell at their house in Calabash (their permanent residence...finally)!! Well, I must say I am happy they are a couple of hours closer, but I am sad they are not in VA anymore. Going up for Hokie games just won't be the same now!! We had a great weekend visiting...we went to the pool, beach, outlet mall, the Calabash Creamery (Chase's favorite part), had a cookout to celebrate their move and retirement and even went back to the pool before we left yesteryday morning. It was a weekend packed full of fun stuff!! It went by way too fast and we had to head home before we were ready. The boys were so good in the car yesterday. I was SO proud of them for behaving so well on the long trip!!
Happy Birthday Grandmommy!

We are headed to Orlando this weekend to take the boys to Sea World. I am so excited about this b/c I haven't been there in a long, long time. I really loved that place when I was a kid and I am hoping Chase and Cole love it just as much!! We will see!!

Chase's first day of school is rapidly approaching. He starts 2 weeks from today!! I bought him some new school clothes at the outlet mall this weekend. He already has a backpack so all that is left is a lunchbox! He wants a CARS one...that shouldn't surprise any of you!!

Cole turned 11 months on the 2nd. I am getting things ready for his party next month. The invitations are in and I will be mailing them tomorrow. They are so cute!!! We are really looking forward to his party, and I hope it will be as fun as I think it is going to be. Cole has been walking around as long as we are holding his hand(s)! Pretty soon he is going to let go and be off on his own! It's crazy how fast he is growing up!

Learning to Walk

He's really growing up on us now! We bought Cole a toy that he can push to learn to walk. Well, he's definitely getting the hang of it! He'll be off and running in no time! :-(

My First 5K!

Well, I did it! About 3 months ago I started an interval training program called "Couch 2 5K" that promised you would be able to run a 5k once you completed the 9 week program. I had my doubts when I first started since I have never been able to run to the end of the driveway without running out of breath!! Luckily it started out slow and during the first week I only had to run for 60 seconds at a time. Well, that was A LOT for me especially b/c I decided that I would start out running on the bridges downtown! After every workout, I was so excited and felt so good that I completed it and that gave me the motivation to keep going on the program!! The weeks went by and I was slowly progressing distance and time wise! I set my sights on running this 5k b/c it was the same area that I was accustomed to running. I was making a much smaller loop than the 3.2 miles, but I was already going over both bridges that were included in the 5k. Well, weather kept delaying my running program (I run at lunch b/c it is the only "me" time I have during the day) and I ended up finishing it the Monday before the 5k! I was so nervous that I wasn't ready for the race, but once I got started I knew I had made the right choice! It was exhillarating to be out there running with all of those people!! I got through the first 1.5 miles with no problem, but going up the Acosta bridge was really tough. I knew that if I could just get to the top that I would be fine..it was literally "all downhill from there"!! I made it over the bridge and through the rest of the race. As I was coming down the street to the finish line, I saw Nick and the boys cheering me on. I was so happy at that moment that I started to cry! I just couldn't believe I had really done it and I was SO HAPPY to see those 3 smiling faces!! I crossed the finish line and looked up to see the clock read 34:29!!!! WOOOOHOOOO! I am already looking forward to running another race (hopefully in September)!

So Happy!!
